Jackie Carpenter Artist
I am a female artist from Alpine, Utah.
My work has been featured in and on the cover of international magazines. I have been the designer for city logos, murals, sports teams. I have worked as a Jewelry designer, a newspaper cartoonist. I've been in advertising. I have made homemade furniture, been a fish decoy carver, I've carved canes and walking sticks, made bird houses and toys. I've done skimshaw and worked with gun and glass engraving. I have taught art in after school programs. I built a row boat in my garage. But I always come back to painting. Art is a way of life for me, a way of living. I see color and emotion in everything around me. Creating and sharing my passion, that gift with others is the most amazing life I could ever imagine.
Right now three of my murals are being hanging in the The Texas Children's Hospital in Houston. They are being featured on the 5th, 10th and 11th floors. There is also a very large painting in one of the Medical clinics in Austin, TX. Where it helps children be a bit braver.
My work is collected all over the world.
It is sometimes about social issues, that are hard to deal with. I try to even bring a colorful, and bold view to those pieces too. I am trying to bring attention to some of the issues of the day that matter most to me, like Homelessness, Abuse, Bullying, Depression, Mental Illness and the Refugee Crisis. Other times my art is all about Fun, like my Designer Dog or Moo Cow Farm series.
I am the mother of four children and grandmother of ten. I now live in UT and always enjoy painting in my studio, gardening, woodworking, fishing, and now being a grandmother. Growing up at the foot of the Rocky Mountains and spending much of my childhood out fishing with my father and brothers has given me a great love of nature. I love spending time in the canyons among the trees they bring me a sense of calm and help me connect to my spiritual side.
"I hope people look at my art and can see something that helps them feel love, joy or empathy for others and sometimes even for themselves." My art is known for being Bright, Bold, Emotion Filled Art. Thank You JC
